These results indicate that, even on days with daily maximum temperatures of 40°C or higher, the day-ahead forecast can help identify the likely level of dangerous heat.

Using the threshold of whether a temperature of 40°C or higher was successfully forecast, tenki.jp displayed 40°C or higher on the previous day in 18 cases. The recall rate—that is, the percentage of days on which 40°C or higher was observed and had also been forecast—was 60%.
