【Completed】Implementation of Observation Data Update for Global Version (July 22)

Dear Customers,

Thank you for using the Weather Data API.

We are pleased to inform you that we will be updating the observation data for the Weather Data API Global version to enhance accuracy.

Update Schedule

Date: Monday, July 22, 2024
Time: 9:00 – 14:00

Summary of Changes

• The temperature data (observed values) for approximately 2600 locations near cities will be updated to values that are closer to surface synoptic observations (SYNOP*).
• Consequently, for the affected locations, both observed values and forecast data will align more closely with surface synoptic observations (SYNOP), making it easier to understand extreme high and low temperatures occurring locally.

* Surface synoptic observations (SYNOP) are weather observation data reported several times daily by national meteorological agencies that are members of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

Target Locations

• Approximately 2600 locations near cities (see PDF for details)

Content Changes Due to Update

• Temperature data in the Overseas Observation (Hourly) API and Overseas Observation (Daily) API
